Several events took place during the
week including a visit from a storyteller, a book fair,
designing posters, making bookmarks and on Friday the
children dressed up as book characters.
We would like to thank Mrs Cox for organising Book Week.
In Book Week we had so much fun and
raised over £1000 on the book shop after school. And a story
teller came in and told us stories of her past. Here is one
– The King of Ireland was riding back to his palace when he
saw a man in a freezing cold pond.
He said “How long have you been standing there for?”
“Two days.” He replied.
“Why aren’t you frozen?”
“Because I can control my body.” They went back to the fire
and the man stood in it and the king said “Why aren’t you
burning?” We also designed a book cover and the runner up
was Alvin and the winner for year 5 was Sanket. We had a
dressing up competition. The winners for Year 5 were Aisha
who was Puss in Boots. The winner was Adam who was Oliver
Twist. Mrs Cox was Bob the Builder. Mrs Tandoh was Captain
Hook and Mrs Walker was Cinderella.

In book week a
story teller came in to tell some stories to each year
group. In our year group (year 5) we were told a gruesome
story about tea and we were told a very nice story about
these people who can change from human to a seal.
We did some hall posters, there were: The Twits, The Snow
Spider, Horrible Histories, The Jungle Book and there were
more. On Friday we all got to dress up as story book
characters. We had a dressing up contest in the afternoon.
In year 5 Aisha won as Puss in boots and Adam won as Oliver
Twist. There was a book cover contest. When people won they
got a book or book mark.
We had to pick a book to be read to during the week, there
was the snow palace, born to run, the twits, rent a genius
and more. There was a book shop that raised over £1000
pounds. Lots of people went the book fair after school on
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Book week was fun.
