Homework Policy

 

We believe that Homework can raise standards, improve pupils' attitudes to learning, improve their organisational skills and involve parents in their children's work. There is a definite link between homework and success at school and for these reasons we have devised a programme as follows:

YEAR THREE

bulletWeekly spellings to learn
bulletNumber bonds or multiplication tables to learn
bulletAny unfinished work to be completed

(An average of 20 minutes per night)

 

YEAR FOUR

bulletWeekly spellings to learn
bulletMultiplication tables to learn
bulletWeekly work set in Literacy and Numeracy groups
bulletAny unfinished work to be completed

(An average of 25 minutes per night)

 

YEAR FIVE

bulletMultiplication tables to learn
bulletWeekly work set in Literacy and Numeracy groups
bulletAny unfinished work to be completed

(An average of 35 minutes per night)

 

YEAR SIX
